Voice over IP Provider Node

This chapter describes the VoIP Provider Node used in this configuration example and outlines the assisted configuration steps.

  1. VoIP Provider Preset: Configure parameters for connecting to a VoIP provider or PSTN service. This includes settings required to establish communication with external telephony networks.

  2. Network Controller: Select and configure the Network Controller to manage routing and connectivity between the VoIP Provider Node and the network infrastructure.

  3. Ports: Define port numbers and protocols used for inbound and outbound SIP and media traffic.

  4. NAT Traversal: Configure NAT traversal options on demand to enable SIP communication across networks using Network Address Translation.

  5. SIP Interconnection Choose between two connection types: SIP trunking between nodes or registration as a SIP client with a provider.

  6. Remote SIP Domain: Set up the remote SIP domain to enable communication with external SIP providers outside the local network.

  7. Client Authentication: Configure authentication credentials if required by the SIP provider for registration or call setup.

  8. Proxy: Set up a SIP proxy to handle signaling, which may be used for load balancing, failover, or network segmentation.

  9. Asserted-URI: Specify the Asserted-URI to define the identity of the caller or callee for accurate routing and identification.

  10. Network Peer Whitelist: Define trusted IP addresses or ranges to restrict communication to known and approved peers.

  11. Incoming Rewrite Rules: Configure rewrite rules for incoming calls, enabling customization and rewriting of call attributes, such as dial strings or caller IDs.

  12. Outgoing Rewrite Rules: Configure rewrite rules for outgoing calls, enabling customization and rewriting of call attributes, such as dial strings or caller IDs to meet provider or network requirements.

  13. Node Name: Assign a unique name to the VoIP Provider Node for identification within anynode's configuration.

  14. Node Overview: Review all configured parameters in the final step of the setup assistant.
